…unless of course, you are named Pantone’s color of the year for 2013.

Welcome, Emerald

Lively, radiant and lush, Emerald is both sophisticated and unifying. It will be a strong trend in fashion this year, which will also affect home and interiors. Green is the only color that the human eye reads as a neutral, so, it pairs well with many other colors. Think about green in nature. It is a splendid backdrop for almost every color.

While green may be divine outdoors, how does Emerald actually work in interiors? And, specifically how does it work with tile? Here in Minnesota, where winters are long and cold, people gravitate towards neutral background colors of warm shades of beiges, tans and browns. Even our greys lean towards warmer shades. Fortunately, all of these shades look phenomenal with Emerald.

Other colors that are will be strong for 2013 fashion include: African Violet , Alloy, Dusk Blue, Grayed Jade, Lemon Zest, Linen, Monaco Blue, Nectarine, Poppy Red, Sunflower, Tender Shoots, Tidal Foam and Vibrant Orange. Look for these colors working their way into home interiors soon!
